After The Weekend

 Monday 6th June 2022

The Spring Steam Gala looks to have been a great success , from where I was, volunteering as a crossing monitor at Cheltenham and Gotherington the trains were full and everyone seamed happy .

So back at Broadway on Monday the talk was about passenger numbers , café takings and of course the weather over the 3 days.

Eight in total today after Dave and Pat joined the group from the gas bottle change at Toddington.

Ian and Ron were doing a general tiding up of the small garden at the end of platform 1.

Pat set about the area at the end of platform 2

Peter K was repairing the metal fence that's been slowly falling apart over the past couple of months.

Whilst down the drive the other Peter , was succeeding at keeping the weeds under control on the embankment.

Later in the day after no more gardening needed doing Ian , Ron and Dave gave the new bins a final inside coat of paint.

Whilst over on the other side of the tracks, Pat had finally reached the signal.

Early in the morning at Toddington before Pat caught up with me , I managed to have a wander around the yard. It was very peaceful and quiet , most of the locomotives were there, still slowly cooling down after the weekends gala.
