A Change in the Air !

Wednesday 18th March 2020

There was talk among  the Volunteers that attended on Monday what might happen on the the railway in the coming weeks , by Tuesday we learnt that it was suspended until further notice .
Those that attended on Wednesday were in a slightly somber mood and were told that Monday as a volunteering day had cancelled , and Wednesday was still available if more than 2 volunteers were available.

Monday saw 6 attendees on a good day weather wise.

Chris and Dave were carrying on with the insulation of the sales hut, the ceiling finished , Chris then turned his attention to the side walls .

Over in and outside of container 3 , Peter K and Brian were working on the spear fencing construction.

Peter welds them up , Brian wire brushes off the rust spots and the applies the red primer.

Ian was elsewhere applying a preservative to the underneath to one of the benches.

Whilst Dave in the  workshop was giving his bespoke small table menu holders a coat of chocolate brown paint.

Pat elsewhere was mowing the grass , no photo available.

Wednesday,  rain was threatening to add to gloomy mood.

Ian flipped over the bench to treat the top.

Peter K turned out another Spear fence panel , to which was given to Brian.

This scenario could go for months ! Same pictures could apply ! just the mode of dress depending on the weather  !

Mike was attempting to the white edging on platform 2 before the rain set in , which it duly did just after lunch.

Pat was still cutting Grass somewhere in the distance , whilst Dave out of the rain, had started the re construction of an additional pamphlet holder for the Booking hall.

Next week was discussed , there are a few jobs that volunteers would like to finish, and a few who would prefer to be in the fresh air than stuck indoors ( or with her indoors ).
So we will see !
