Insulation

Monday 2nd March

It was a cold and frosty morning. A day for insulation for wearing as well as in the Bric a Brac Shop.

Ian doing a bit of sign writing which he finished on Wednesday.

Chris and David were busy measuring, cutting and fitting insulation board in the shop.

Clearing the Platform. Tony and Clive pressure washing the paving slabs.

Sweeping Up. Vic collected four barrow loads of Pine Needles on Monday then recommenced on Wednesday collecting more.

Weeds and Plants.

Chris and Vic removed weeds from around the station also Vic planted some more shrubs and looked at the blossoming flowers.

Picnic Area

Peter, Dave, Brian and Ian all had a hand in resurrecting the fence knocked down by Storm Denis.

Visitors.
P/Way, Line Side Clearance and Café Trainees.

A Train!

A diesel and wagons off from the siding.

The Bridge

Neal came in and placed some timber.

By a strange coincidence 60 years ago  the last passenger train left Broadway station ! This Saturday the 7th March sees the first Passenger train of the season !

Just another excuse to show another picture of a train at our station .

Vic.

  1. Great blog update. Those tree needles get everywhere. Glad to see that the shop has benefitted from some insulation. - Bet it was cold in there! Also glad that Neal is hale and hearty. - Began to get worried about him.

  2. Not related specifically to this blog post, but I have just noticed a GWR cast iron 'Passengers are requested to cross the line by the bridge' sign listed in the March 28th 2020 GNRA auction. I seem to recall you were looking for one of them?
