A Pictorial History of the construction of the Broadway Station Building 2016

And so to 2016


January 2016




More block work and the start of sewage and drainage pipes installation.


February 2016


Infilling with compacted  type 1 ballast , covered then with a membrane which was then covered with sand.




Sewage and drainage pipes completed from inside to outside.

March 2016


Floor Installation added , then concrete laid on top

Outside drainage and man holes completed on car park side.




Brick work up to Plinth headers , then the door frames and  over the coming months as the brick work grows in height , eventually window sills and window frames.





Internal walls constructed fitted with insulation  in between it and the external walls.




August  to November 2016

Station brick work at a height that now required scaffolding to continue bricklaying.



Internally a real and a false chimney are being built.





A number of windows are finished showing off the arches.


Arch over the entrance to the toilet is completed, the positioning of the commemorative stone block is finalized and cemented in place.





The start of the fitting of the Joists .
