Week Commencing 1st September 2025
Monday
Back up to the 4 on Monday , at Broadway after yet another gas bottle change, I found that Kevin had discovered some grass to cut !
Strange things have been donated to our shed but this could have been the strangest , no not Ron .
Elsewhere Ian and Ron rubbed down the new dagger boards that will ornate the shed.
Over on platform 2 the bricks on the back wall rise steadily.
All boards at the end of the day had been rubbed down and given a coating of clear wood persevere .
Wednesday
Rain was on the horizon but we had 5 volunteers turn out.
First job of the day saw the changing of the tap on the outside of the signal box.
This tap had no return valve fitted so regs deemed it had to changed , a 10 min job.
Kevin was trying to keep on top of the brambles over on the bank on platform 2.
Chris and young Dave were also on platform 2 clearing the heaps of wet needles that the previous wind and rain had brought down.
Time to coat the dagger boards with primer / undercoat
2 steam today , which included 2807 and Foremarke Hall.
The rains came after lunch so by 2 we were gone.
ReplyDeleteI got to the Station on Wednesday with my son, his wife, over fromAustralia and my son in law from Coventry. it was good to see the place in the flesh for the first time in six years after getting cancer, so with their help we had a good look around before going down to Cheltenham station to continue our visit to the line. It was great to see the station again ,it looks well kept thanks to your efforts. Well done everyone and thanks for a great day out, I was exhausted at the end of the but it was worth it.
