Stepping to the Future

Monday 5th August

For those of you on Broadway Station Facebook Page, you'll have read about Vic's actions in rescuing a Teddy Bear off the trackbed last Saturday much to the pleasure of the young boy and his mum. This month sees Teddy Bear Tuesdays so hopefully no more rescues required.

What happening at Broadway Station. Five volunteers in today, Vic clearing growth around a lamp post and disabled sign.

Peter and Dave sorting out a door on the cafe.

Also improving the rain runoff on the Rubbish Bins.

Ron was sweeping the Pine Needle drop along the driveway. Followed on by painting the fence posts under the Footbridge.

Also painting was Jo doing the wooden boards for the side walls on the Footbridge.

Signal & Telegraph were also busy on Platform 2 digging a trench.

Finally Tony discussing the days activities with Dave & Pete.

Today a few of the original wooden steps were installed, with a few of the volunteers trying them out.

Nearly at the top! Tony and Ray were painting the Spear Fencing.

The small digger which was used on Platform 2, then on Tuesday spreaded  some of the top soil at the top of the drive. Paul here is tidying it up.

More top soil was also barrowed over to Platform 2 and then Clive spreaded grass seed over the top.

The "Coffin" arrived on Monday and placed near the Station Masters Office. This is for the storage of the disabled ramp.

More painting. Peter K on the B&B gate. John S on the other side of the bridge.

Mowing and Strimming. Tony on Platform 1 embankment using the Hover mower, he also cut the grass in the Picnic Area. Pat is on Platform 2 reducing the growth around the base of the footbridge.

The FOBS Goods Shed. Ron was the shop keeper today, setting out his wares, we can always have room for more especially Bubble wrap.

    1. We are looking at high viz edgings with non slip covers for the steps to comply with DDA regulations. The woodwork will be finished in light stone paint finish.
