More the Same

Wednesday 26th June 2019

I think the prospect of bad weather may have put people off coming on Monday , only 4 plus the Stairs team.

Jo had finished varnishing the frame that was going to be used for the map of the Great Western Network , which later Dave put together and then fixed it to the entrance wall in the Booking Hall and then forgot to take a picture of it in place.

Tony got another barrow of pine cones and Pat disappeared into the distance with the strimmer .
Dave carried on with his latest creation which will be the Tea Room open and closed sign.

Wednesday was just overcast , and more volunteers appeared .

The majority after getting some additional uprights for the fence cut, then headed for the gate and fence.

How many volunteers does it take to cut 4 pieces of wood ?

After installation of the additional uprights , now only the gate to be made.

Later the same gang did a bit ( a large bit ) of vegetation clearing on the Platform 1 embankment.

Not an easy task , a calf and ankle buster . Rod , Terry and Kieth on the slope , Clive and Paul on the wheel
barrows , removing the spoils.

Elsewhere Dave gave his board a first coat of Black and White

Locomotive of the day ( you probably seen a lot of pictures of " The King " by now ) was the Class 26 Diesel Electric Locomotive D5343 now carrying its 60 years badge .
