More storm damage !

 Week commencing 26th January 2026

Monday

5 around today , weather not okay a bit of a storm brewing  .
Kevin has well and truly moved into old mess hut , old fridge is now a storage cupboard.

Out of the wind and rain Chris in the warmth of the ladies toilet gave one of the waste bins a fresh coat of paint.

Over on platform 2 the team had made a concrete block to support one of the canopy stanchions .

Edges were put on one of the bins.

Chris and Ian fitted some draft excluders on the shed.

Signs of life in one of the pots , could be snowdrops, daffodils or tulips ?

Wednesday

Day after the storm that went through on Tuesday, the southern end of platform 1 , 2 large branches had come down , that make 4 that have come down in the past couple of months.

Smashed another lamp !

Bits all over the place !

We spent most of the morning clearing up , sweep up the glass and chop up the trees. and take them down to the bonfire area .

This was interesting a broken branch stuck in the ground not far from the platform edge .

Chris was back in the shed on the final part of the insulation fitting to the corner wall.

Mark and young Dave carried on cleaning up the track bed .

Kevin put a small fence up to try and stop people standing on the bank, to take photos.

An attempt was made to straighten out the top of the lamp which got hit .

At little Broadway the Auto Train arrives with the afternoon train to Honeybourne.

More Wet Weather !

 Week Commencing 19th January 2026

Monday and only Monday

3 of us braved the damp conditions , Ian , Kevin and myself.

The 2 bins keeping warm in the ladies had a fresh coat of paint , plus the one roughing it down at the workshop container.

Kevin with ians help finally got to the end of the large hedge !

And the highlight of the day was the cleaning out of the drain at the end of the station again !

Little Broadway saw the arrival of the small Prairie pulling the mid day stopping train to Honeybourne Junction.

No Wednesday this week too wet , better luck next week.

Bin Working !

 Week Commencing 12th January 2026

Monday

A few here today , if you werent doing work on the bins you were trying to put the hedge into some sort of shape.

Ian and myself and Vic were refurbishing the rubbish bins.

Spotted on our work around the station was a new hole in the driveway embankment , we didn't know how long it had been there but it smelt fresh and Foxy !
We decided to cover it with some mess we had and pin it securely down , lets see if the culprit is still around .

Kevin and Chris were doing the hedge.

Top of the hedge had quite a few branches , branching out of place.

Wednesday

Guess what . a camera shoot at the station next week .so the station furniture had to be removed back out of the canopy and back onto the platform.

Spotted later on , the 3 were trying ( I say trying ) to remove a dead branch off one of the trees which over hang the platform. Over the previous weeks the trees have dropped dead branches onto the platform at that end , and this branch looked to be ready to drop. Guess what with all their efforts its still there .

Peter K joined us to fit a hand rail on the steps to the signal box locker room

And Kevin was still on the big hedge.

No real trains this week , so another photo from Mini Broadway , the Ivatt Class 2  leaves Broadway Station for Cheltenham Malvern Road .

Back to It and Brrr

 Week Commencing 5th January 2026

Monday

Brass monkey weather , cold and icy.
But the 3 faithful's turned out.
Winter is defiantly upon us , so the platform furniture returns to shelter of the canopy yet again.
below Kevin and Ian puts the first bench onto the trolleys heading away from a very icy platform.

The last three bins that have to be refurbished were put in the ladies toilet to dry out , the others put under the stairs.

keeping out of the cold we decided to empty one corner of the shed that needs to be insulated in readiness for Chris and Dave.

Outside Kevin did a bit of loping on the big hedge.

Wednesday

Mark and myself got into the car park garden cutting back the trees which by summer time would be overhanging  the car park .

The bench in the small garden needed covering up .

And back in the shed , Chris and Dave were in the corner starting the insulation.

Monday we noticed strange people appear about mid day with cameras and tripods . what were they hoping to film , a photo charter ? On the horizon steam from Pendennis Castle arriving at the station soon after .
Brightened up the morning.
